UNDERSTANDING WHO SATAN IS (PART FOUR)

Updated: Nov 14

DOES SATAN HAVE SUPREME AUTHORITY AND POWER?

The answer to this question will certainly be no, first because he is not a sovereign God, he himself is a creature among the creatures that the Eternal created, so being already a created creature his power is already limited, so he has no supreme power and authority.

Secondly, Satan has no supreme authority over us, because he is a being who has already been defeated and destroyed on the cross by our Lord Jesus Christ. He is therefore an adversary defeated in advance, he has no power or authority over the true children of God and over the Church of the Lord.

Despite the fact that he is already defeated and destroyed, there are still people on earth who believe in him, in his power and authority. People who take him for a god and are ready to submit to the devil in search of power, protection, motherhood, wealth and other needs.

But according to the knowledge of the Bible, despite his destruction on the cross of Golgota, he continues to exercise his authority and power over a group of fallen angels and over the people he himself initiated into his evil activities, those we call Satanists. He also has authority over all those who obey his lies and over the categories of humans we call unbelievers.

WHY IN A PLACE AS EXTREMELY PURE AS HEAVEN DID SATAN HAVE THE IDEA TO PRACTICE EVIL? WHERE DID HE GET THESE IDEAS FROM?

The answer to this question is simple: Satan was created with a divine capacity, like a little god with the ability to decide freely in his mind. It is the divine and pious side that allows him to have the deep knowledge of good and evil from the first days of his creation.

NB: he was not created to act like a robot but to act with all his conscience with the free choice to choose between good and evil. Because of his characteristics, Because of his

characteristics, he was like a little god in the sky.

I wanted to emphasize here that he was not the only one in this category of angel, many other angels in his category all have divine abilities within them. And historically, like any angel in his category, since his creation, Lucifer already knows the existence of good and evil.

The cherub Lucifer after having worthily served the Eternal as confirmed by the word at a certain stage of his life, he decided himself without being influenced by anyone to stop practicing good and to identify with evil, that is to say to practice the knowledge of evil

HAS A THIRD OF THE ANGELS FALLEN WITH LUCIFER?

No verse literally says in black and white that "a third of the angels fell from heaven with Lucifer" but by associating several verses of the Bible one can arrive at this conclusion.

Starting from the book of (Isaiah 14:12) "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning? how art thou cast down to the earth, thou that overthrowest the nations!" Dan

(Luke 10:18) Jesus said: "I saw Satan fall from heaven like lightning." And in the Apocalypse (Revelation 9:1), Satan is described as "a star fallen from heaven to the earth."The scriptures also confirm Dan (Hebrews 12:22) "tens of thousands of angels have chosen to rebel with Lucifer."

John in the vision of the apocalypse saw this great miraculous sign in heaven: "a great red fiery dragon, whose tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth." And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world. He was cast out to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. (Revelation 12:3-9)

In conclusion, we notice that in all these verses, Satan is described as a star that fell or was cast to the earth, and Revelation 12:4 says that a third of the stars fell with him. We can conclude that the stars of Revelation 12 are the fallen angels, or a third of all the angels. Although this number is to be interpreted literally, it really reassures us that two-thirds of the angels are still on the side of God and those who follow Christ.

WHY DIDN'T GOD KILL SATAN AT THE BEGINNING OF HIS REBELLION?

WHY DID HE LET HIM LIVE AND CREATE HIS EMPIRE?

It should first be noted that in his time Lucifer was not just any angel, he was a high-ranking angel in the evangelical hierarchy, he occupied a very high and influential position in heaven. This put him in the position of a leading angel and a cult leader in heaven (worship) plus he is a very intelligent angel, full of wisdom with a great personality, an influencer and a great seducer.

All his characteristics allowed him to be easily heard among the angels. And many of his angels had already fallen under his spell and firmly believed in his motives for rebellion against God. So for them Lucifer was right the proof is that they followed him in his rebellion. And according to several verses of the Bible, we conclude that a third of the angels fell with Lucifer! because they were convinced of his lying speeches.

At this level, we can already understand the magnitude of this rebellion in heaven. And the degree of violence that Satan was able to cause in heaven. I can imagine a group of thousands of angels plus Satan standing between them, glorifying Satan as the person who dared to defy God. If I can imagine this scenario in a human way, I can imagine how all the media and newspapers in heaven talk about it widely and at that moment, Lucifer becomes even more stubborn because he goes down in history as the first angel who dared to defy God and at that moment, thousands of angels consider him a revolutionary and are ready to fight with him to overthrow God and finally Lucifer appears as the perfect opponent in the midst of his angels so that they take power.

But what is strange about the continuation of this matter is that God decided not to kill him or exterminate him and his angels. He decided instead to cast him out of heaven.

Is it a good or bad decision to let Satan and his angels live?

Yes, for me, it is the best decision.

Why I support God's decision:

It is because firstly, if God had killed Satan and his angels directly, it would not have ended this matter, on the contrary, it would have triggered other rebellions because the others remaining will think that Lucifer was right. And many of them may start to see God as a dictator and Lucifer as a martyr, a model of revolution in heaven.

The effect of leaving him alive and letting him live his life freely without being killed, while preparing a distant condemnation against him. He is teaching a lesson to the other angels who might have the ideas of his rebels to learn from satan's suffering.

The other angels who remained in heaven can see what he has become since he left heaven his home. They can notice that since he left heaven he has been living a miserable life, without joy or peace and the hardest part is that he does not even have a safe place to live he becomes homeless and wandering without any value in the world.

And what a beautiful lesson to tell others indirectly if you dare, you too will suffer like Lucifer or even experience the worst of what Satan is currently experiencing.

WHERE DOES THE DEVIL/SATAN LIVE?

It is true that the devil lives in darkness and is found wherever there is spiritual darkness.

JUDE 6

Jude tells us, “And the angels which kept not their own origin, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting bonds and darkness unto the judgment of the great day.”

Historically, when Satan rebelled against God, he fell from heaven and found himself in what the Bible calls the abyss or chains of darkness. According to the Bible, the devil and the fallen angels were condemned to live in darkness, that is, in the abyss. That is why the works he does and practices are called works of darkness. And those who practice them are called children of darkness.

THE DARKNESS IN QUESTION

The darkness in question It is not only about “lightless regions” or areas without light. But it is rather about eternal darkness or spiritual darkness. This darkness that the biblical texts speak of is first of all moral and spiritual. This darkness is due to the absence of God, who is light.

FOR TRUE BELIEVERS

For us who believe in God, it is written that Jesus has freed us from the power of darkness (Colossians 1:13) so that our spirit is no longer confined in darkness. But if we tolerate sins, we expose ourselves to the attacks of Satan because the darkness will claim us. Because wherever there is willful disobedience to the Word of God, there is spiritual darkness that will come to settle and this will give the opportunity for demonic activities to take place.

JESUS’ WARNING

Jesus warned us in the Scriptures, “Take heed that the light that is in you does not become darkness” (Luke 11:35). There is a light within us: It is written, “The spirit of man is the lamp of the Lord” (Proverbs 20:27). Your spirit, illuminated by the Spirit of Christ, becomes “the lamp of the Lord” by which He can search your heart.

CONCLUSION

Indeed, the true Spirit-filled Christian truly radiates holiness because holy living becomes like a lamp that makes our spirit shine before God. But when you give in to sin, the light that is in you will turn into darkness and this can give Satan the right of entry to come and dwell in that area of darkness. Understand this: the devil can enter into any area of darkness, even the heart of man.
